Pool Builders in California, by city

This is the California directory of swimming pool builders. It lists 1,172 businesses across 132 California cities, from Bakersfield, Los Angeles and San Diego to smaller towns that have a page of their own. Each city page lists the builders that serve that city, with their rating, review count and the kinds of pool work their own websites state.

Builders are sorted so that the ones that state new pool construction come first, marked as confirmed builders. That mark means the business says it builds new pools. It is not a verdict on quality. A business without the mark may still build pools, it just has not said so where we could read it, so call and ask.

Use a city page to build a short list, then check each name before you hire. In California a pool is built under the C-53 swimming pool classification, and the Contractors State License Board lets you confirm a license and its standing at cslb.ca.gov or at 800-321-CSLB (2752). A General Building (B) contractor may contract for pool work if they hold the pool classification or hire a licensed pool contractor to do it. A landscape (C-27) contractor may contract for a pool if it is part of a larger landscaping project. Our guide, How to Choose a Pool Builder in California, walks through the six checks to run on every builder, from the license to the contract to the permit.

If you own one of these businesses, you can claim your listing for free to correct your details. Smaller towns with one or two builders have their own pages, and each is listed under Smaller towns below.
