Why this directory exists

California homeowners planning a first backyard pool face a long list of builders and very little that is easy to compare. I built this directory so you can see who builds pools in your city, what kinds of pool work each business states on its own website and how Google reviewers rate them.

I work on how businesses show up in search, in both AI answers and search engines, so that customers can find them. A directory is one of the clearest ways to show a trade in one place, so I made one for pool builders in California.

Builders that state new pool construction are marked as confirmed builders and listed first. That is a note about what a business says, not a recommendation, so please check licenses and references yourself. The guide on this site explains the checks to run before you sign.

How listings are vetted

Every listing starts from public business records and Google Maps. We keep California businesses that are open, have at least one Google review and list swimming pool contractor as their trade. We merge duplicates and drop closed businesses.

We then read each business's own website and note which kinds of work it states, such as new pool construction, gunite or fiberglass, remodeling, spas, water and fire features and outdoor kitchens. A business that states new pool construction is marked a confirmed builder, and confirmed builders are listed first. A business marked as not confirmed has not stated that work on its website, so call and ask.

Right now that is 1,172 pool builders in 132 California cities, last refreshed 2026-10-16.

Owners can claim their listing for free. Every claim is checked by a person: a real local business, a matching email domain or a call to the number on the Google listing. Paid placements are marked as featured, premium or best-of wherever they appear.

Corrections and removals

If a listing is wrong, or you want your business removed, tell us. We answer within a week and rebuild the directory with the change.
